Tamarindo announces winners of the sixth edition of the 2025 Wind Investment Awards, celebrating outstanding contributions to the global wind sector.

EnergyPro is proud to announce that Kyro Keown, Renewable Energy Engineer at EnergyPro, has won the Rising Star of the Year award at the sixth annual Wind Investment Awards.
Kyro was recognised for her deep technical work on EnergyPro’s new turbine under-performance detection and diagnostic system “WindWise” (the brand name for an SEAI-funded project called ‘TurbinePredict’).
WindWise is focused on early identification and diagnosis of underperformance in wind turbines, without the need for sensor data, using SCADA data with advanced data analytics and machine learning.
Kyro has played a leading role in the development of WindWise, turning complex turbine behaviour into practical, actionable insights for operators and asset managers. This contribution was a key part of the judges’ decision.
The panel noted that Kyro’s technical clarity, values-driven approach, and commitment to real-world decarbonisation outcomes made her stand out:
“Kyro’s was a fantastic submission. The technical details she has been working on linked all the way up to the big picture about what she is trying to achieve and has been able to accomplish in terms of carbon reduction globally. The passion, the values, and everything that’s driving her to work in this industry is truly outstanding.”
The Wind Investment Awards, hosted by Tamarindo, celebrate the people, deals, and initiatives shaping the future of wind energy. The 2025 edition highlighted outstanding contributions across innovation, finance, development, and operations in both onshore and offshore markets. The ceremony took place on 22 May 2025 in London.
Kyro commented, “My passion for renewable energy started when I was seven years old, when I first saw a wind turbine and learned about climate change. I consider myself truly lucky to have not just held onto that passion but been able to build my whole career around it.”
Adam Barber, CEO of Tamarindo, added, “In the space of just twenty years, the global wind industry has grown from regional community schemes to the gigawatt-scale portfolios we see today. That trajectory can be easy to overlook, which is why this year in particular we are proud to recognise the people driving meaningful progress.”
Adam Barber, Tamarindo’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “In the space of just twenty years, the global wind industry has rapidly expanded from regional community schemes and single-turbine projects to the industry we recognise today. Specifically, that means gigawatt-scale offshore installations and extensive onshore wind portfolios, both underpinned by a streamlined, powerful supply chains that’s proven themselves more than capable of developing and operating projects in more than fifty countries around the world.
“However, in the politics of the day, this growth trajectory is easy to take for granted and to overlook. That’s why this year, more than any other year, my team are exceptionally proud to have brought together key industry participants to celebrate and recognise the progress made over these past 12 months.”
EnergyPro extends its congratulations to Kyro on this well-earned recognition. Her contribution to WindWise represents the kind of practical innovation that directly improves turbine reliability, strengthens renewable-energy outcomes, and supports our clients across the sector.
We would also like to thank Tamarindo for organising the Wind Investment Awards, and the judging panel for acknowledging the talent and impact shaping our industry.
Congratulations to all winners and nominees whose dedication and innovation are driving progress across the wind sector.
