Senior Asset Manager

Owing to our continued expansion, we are looking to expand our team. This is a hybrid role where you would be primarily based at one of our offices (Athy, Cavan, Glasgow or Exeter) for 2-3 days per week, with the option of working partially from home for the other 2-3 days following successful completion of a probationary period.  

About this Role

The role is to assist the current asset management team in looking after the existing fleet of operational wind farms, solar farms and battery energy plants. The asset management team is tasked with keeping the assets operating at a high level and ensuring Health, Safety & environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of wind, solar, and battery-storage assets. 

  • To oversee performance, maintenance, compliance, financial management and stakeholder reporting — ensuring assets deliver to their full potential across generation, storage, grid services, and revenue streams. 

  • To carry out wind turbine, solar farm and battery storage project inspections and produce subsequent technical reports 

  • To monitor and co-ordinate the operation of customers’ wind farms to ensure that they are operating safely, effectively and efficiently. 

  • To ensure a safe culture for work at windfarms and oversee compliance with safety and quality standards  

  • To oversee the introduction of ancillary grid services 

Required Attributes

  • Proven experience in asset management within the energy sector (renewables preferred). 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 

  • Excellent understanding of operational safety, maintenance strategies, and performance optimization. 

  • Commercial acumen with experience reviewing proposals and contracts. 

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach. 

  • Strong communicator and influencer across all levels. 

  • Results-driven with a focus on safety and sustainability. 

  • Ability to lead improvement initiatives and manage change effectively. 

  • Good technical knowledge of wind, solar and battery storage technology 

  • Ability to travel to remote windfarm sites and climb and inspect wind turbines 

  • Previous wind energy experience, particularly with Vestas technology 

  • Consulting engineering background 

  • Formal engineering and/or health and safety qualification
